Radio Operator Hearing Loss

Hit Counter

One of the members of our ASA Korea group asked if anyone has information regarding radio operators who have ongoing hearing problems that started when they got out of the service or shortly thereafter.  Some have ringing in the ears and others have experienced severe hearing loss.

We are surveying our group to gather info from other ASA personnel getting treatment from the VA or possibly a VA disability claim.  Information from other ASA personnel who have been successful in claiming a hearing problem with the VA and how they went about it would be helpful.

Two to four years with earphones on and a continual squeaking and squawking with high decibels seems like it makes a good argument for help.

If anyone has had any "can" related hearing problems contact Bob "Rudy" Rudolph at the email address below.
